The Eppendorfer Park is a park in Hamburg district of Eppendorf . It was designed in 1890 as a relaxation room for patients at the nearby New General Hospital founded in 1889 and now the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf . The green area was laid out on hilly terrain according to the designs of Franz Andreas Meyer , chief engineer of the building deputation . Today the park is mainly used by families because of the children's playground and the adventure playground and family center Baui , which has also been on the site since 1974 . If there is enough snowfall, an embankment serves as a toboggan hill in winter .
