The epsilonretrovirus are a genus within the family of retroviruses ( Retroviridae ), and include them to the simple retroviruses. Epsilon retroviruses infect fish . Some cause tumors, for example the Walleye dermal sarcoma virus ( English Walleye , i.e. glass eye perch ).

The genomic structure of the epsilon retroviruses is unique among the retroviruses because they have an ORF upstream from Gag , which is referred to as Orf-C. They are also the only known retroviruses that use a histidyl-tRNA as priming to start DNA synthesis of the first strand. Another ORF, Orf-A, codes for a retroviral cyclin , which so far has only been found in epsilon retroviruses .
