Eqrem Basha ( Macedonian Еќрем Баша Ećrem Baša ; born November 15, 1948 in Debar , Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia ) is an Albanian poet and writer

Life

Eqrem Basha went early 1970s to Pristina in Kosovo and studied at the University of Albanian language and literature . He worked for the city's television until 1990, but was fired because of the political turmoil. Today Basha works for the publishing house Dukagjini , which he co-founded in 1994. He also works as a translator.

Works

Basha is primarily a poet , but has also written short stories, novels and scripts. His poems are difficult to classify, often surreal , and based on an urban lifestyle. He is considered one of the most important modern authors in Kosovo.

Translations have been published by renowned French publishers, but there are hardly any translations in German.
