Weinlage Erdener Treppchen on the Moselle

The Erdener podium is a vineyard of the local church earth in the growing area Mosel , area Bernkastel .

Vineyard

The 36 hectare vineyard is located to the left of the Moselle , across from Erden and downstream from Ürzig , facing south. The floor is made of slate . The site is almost exclusively planted with Riesling . The Erdener Treppchen is a large location of the Association of German Predicate and Quality Wineries and approved for large plants of the Bernkasteler Ring .

Today's podium includes u. a. also the historical Erdener locations Himmelreich, Herzlei, Hahnberg, Bußlay, Hödlay, Schöneberg and Kribslay.

Climbing path

The vineyard is accessible to tourists by a climbing path. From the Roman wine press on the Moselle, the path leads up stairs and sometimes even ladders to the steep slope. The path is designed as a circular route with three differently challenging variants of a maximum of 4.3 kilometers in length.

The Bremen Ratskeller has been leasing a location in Erdener Treppchen since 2012, with the lease supporting the Römerkelter Association. The wine is marketed as "Senate wine", the sales proceeds go to the Martinshof, a social institution of the city.
