The Bernkasteler Ring e. V. ( Riesling winery in Bernkasteler Ring) was founded on April 29, 1899 in Bernkastel-Kues as an association of winery owners from the Middle Moselle . It is the oldest wine auction company in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer wine-growing region. The first wine auction took place on April 23, 1901. The wines of the member companies are still being auctioned. The auction takes place every September.

The Bernkasteler Ring eV unites 33 wineries on the Moselle, Saar and Ruwer. The family-run wineries produce high-quality Riesling wines on the best steep slopes on the Moselle. In addition to the auction, there is a joint year-old presentation every June.

The wines that will be presented at the joint events must have passed an organoleptic test before they can be admitted to the presentation or auction by the Bernkasteler Ring. The wines are regularly awarded high prizes in national and international wine competitions.

Since 2005, the best dry Riesling has been developed into a large plant in many member companies . Vinified according to the production criteria of the Bernkasteler Ring classification, Riesling wines with the designation "Großes Gewächs Bernkasteler Ring" represent a premium line of dry wines. These Grand Cru wines come only from the best steep slopes and are characterized by an extraordinary aging potential. A selective hand-picking, a harvest quantity limited to 50 hl / ha and a strict sensory test by an expert jury are the prerequisites for this top segment.
