Ereck Flowers (* 25. April 1994 in Miami , Florida ) is an American American football player. He plays for the Miami Dolphins as an offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL).

High school

Flowers began playing basketball at Krop High School . He only started his football career when he moved to Norland High School in Miami Gardens . In 2012 Flowers was listed in the top 20 offensive tackles according to the website Rivals.com. Although he also had other offers, Flowers decided to move to the University of Miami in Florida.

college

In the following three years Flowers was used in all 36 games of his Miami Hurricanes , sometimes on the position of the left tackle, sometimes on that of the right tackle. In December 2014, Flowers announced that they would be participating in the 2015 NFL Draft .

NFL

Flowers was drafted ninth in the first round by the New York Giants . He was the highest they drafted the offensive lineman his college since 2002. He signed for four years about 14.3 million US dollars . Since then, he has played 55 of 59 possible regular season games for the Giants (as of the 2018 season). During this time he let pressure on the quarterback 180 times, by far the highest value in the NFL. For the 2018 season he was retrained to the position of the right tackle and demoted to backup in this position. On October 8, 2018, he was finally released by the Giants. On October 12, 2018, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him . After he could not meet expectations on the tackle position, the Jaguars Flowers transferred to the Washington Redskins just under six months later. There he signed a one-year contract on March 18, 2019.

On March 16, 2020, he signed a three-year contract with the Miami Dolphins for $ 30 million.
