Erhard "Beppo" Hofeditz (born December 7, 1953 in Wolfhagen ) is a former German football player and coach.
Career
Player career
"Beppo" Hofeditz played in his youth and as an amateur for the clubs FSV Wolfhagen, VfL Kassel and KSV Hessen Kassel
His professional career began at KSV Baunatal in the 2nd Bundesliga South . After an outstanding 1976/77 season with 17 goals in 38 games, he scored two or more goals five times in one game, and an equally good start to the next season, he moved to the Bundesliga for TSV 1860 Munich in September 1977 .
He made his first Bundesliga game on October 1, 1977 against VfB Stuttgart . Hofeditz was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, but the game was lost. With nine goals, he was the team’s best shooter this season. Despite his goals, the Löwen had to relegate to the 2nd division in 1978, but managed to get promoted again after a year. Furthermore, it went very well for Hofeditz, he became a regular player in Munich and was used in three years in 87 league games, in which he scored 22 goals. Erhard Hofeditz achieved fame when he took a decisive penalty in the last minute in the derby against FC Bayern Munich on November 12, 1977 . After provoking him with the words "You red Bavarian pig", Karl-Heinz Rummenigge slapped him in the face . He saw the red card and the 60s won 3-1.
In 1980 the striker moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern and played there regularly. In 55 Bundesliga games he scored 13 goals for the devil . With Kaiserslautern he reached the final of the DFB Cup in 1981 , which however was lost 3-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt . In total, he played eleven times in his career in the DFB Cup and scored once. In 1982 Hofeditz reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup with the Palatinate , which was only lost in extra time against IFK Göteborg . He scored two goals in a total of eleven UEFA Cup games.
For the 1982/83 season he moved to Karlsruher SC for a year and then to Kickers Offenbach , with whom he was relegated to the 2nd division in 1984. In 1985 he ended his professional career. Hofeditz played a total of 163 Bundesliga games (41 goals) and 91 second division games (32 goals).
Coaching career
In the 2005/06 season he took over the post as interim and assistant coach at his ex-club KSV Baunatal for one year . Hofeditz had already worked as a trainer for KSV in the mid-1990s.
