Eric "Efro" Froehlich (born February 9, 1984 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is a professional American poker player . He is two-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Personal

Froehlich was a talented athlete in his youth. However, an injury forced him to pursue other activities. Like his later friend David Williams , he first came into contact with the trading card game Magic: The Gathering . Froehlich lives in Springfield , Virginia .

Poker career

Career

On the high school Froehlich first played poker. He started playing online at the age of 18 and dropped out of the University of Virginia in the spring of 2005 to devote himself entirely to poker.

In his first year at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in early June 2005 , he won the $ 1,500 Limit Hold'em and received over $ 360,000  in prize money and a bracelet . At that time, Froehlich was the youngest bracelet winner to date, at the age of 21. Steve Billirakis now holds this record . A year later, at the 2006 WSOP , Froehlich won his second bracelet . He prevailed against numerous competitors in $ 1,500 Pot Limit Omaha and received just under $ 300,000. On his last hand, Q 7 7 6 , he beat Sherkhan Farnoods K K 6 3 on a board of 10 7 5 J J .

Overall, Froehlich has earned more than $ 2.5 million in poker in live tournaments.
