Eric Otto Winstedt

Eric Otto Winstedt ( 1880 in Oxford - January 29, 1955 ), better known as EO Winstedt , was a British linguist , Latinist and tsiganologist . He translated Latin texts such as Marcus Tullius Cicero's letters to Titus Pomponius Atticus into English and published on the Coptic language .

Furthermore, he put together a "Register of Gypsy Names" in the 1920s and published frequently in the Journal of the Gypsy Lore Society to whose core group he belonged.

His brother was Richard Olaf Winstedt .
