Erich Goode

Erich Goode (* 1938 ) is an American sociologist and criminologist . He is committed to the criminological labeling approach, has made contributions to social science research on addiction and analyzed the phenomenon of moral panic .

Goode received his bachelor's degree from Oberlin College in 1960 and then studied at Columbia University , where he received his PhD in sociology in 1966 . He has taught at several US universities and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a professor and is emeritus at Stony Brook University .
