Erich Jenisch

Erich Jenisch (born June 22, 1893 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † 1966 in Würzburg ) was a German literary historian .

Life

Jenisch studied literature and art history at the Albertus University in Königsberg and at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . In 1918 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . He was temporarily a critic for Königsberg newspapers . Habilitated in 1925 , he became associate professor in 1933 with a simultaneous teaching assignment for the Königsberg Commercial College and the Danzig Technical University .

When he had to retire in 1940, he became a librarian at the Gatow Air War School . After the Second World War , he held a lectureship for modern German literary history at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , where he headed the modern department of the German Department of the Philosophical Faculty.
