Erich Moser (politician)

Erich Moser (born December 23, 1948 in Stadl an der Mur , Styria ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending compulsory schools and the Bundesrealgymnasium , Erich Moser passed the Matura in 1968 . After completing his studies at the Pedagogical Academy in Graz , Moser found work as a teacher for English , geography and physical exercise from 1970 .

His political career took place predominantly at the local level. In 1975 he moved into the municipal council of Stadl an der Mur for the Social Democrats . In 1980, he was elected Vice Mayor of his home town. In this position he worked for nine years. In 1989 he finally ran successfully for the office of mayor .

In October 1991 he moved to Vienna as a member of the Federal Council . Moser was a member of the second Austrian parliamentary chamber until March 1993.

After 25 years as mayor of Stadl an der Mur, in the course of the consolidation of the municipalities in 2015, the office of mayor of Stadl-Predlitz went to Johannes Rauter and Erich Moser was elected vice-mayor of the new municipality.
