Erich Seelmann-Eggebert

Erich Lothar Seelmann-Eggebert (born June 24, 1874 in Heide ; † May 21, 1937 ) was a German lawyer , manager , author and politician ( DNVP ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Memel , Seelmann-Eggebert studied law and political science at the Albertus University in Königsberg . During his studies he became a member of the Teutonia Königsberg fraternity in 1893 . In 1917 he was at the University of Tübingen with a theme of cooperatives to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . From 1905 to 1906 he worked as a judge at the Paderborn Regional Court , then returned to Königsberg and worked there as a lawyer from 1906 to 1920. He then worked as a judge at the Koenigsberg Regional Court . In 1926 he was also licensed as a notary.

From 1910 to 1920, Seelmann-Eggebert was the association director of the East Prussian Raiffeisen Cooperative and director of the Königsberg branch of the Agricultural Central Loan Fund for Germany. Together with Eduard Jungblut, Wilhelm Kammann and Magnus von Braun , he founded R + V Versicherung in 1922 . He then worked as an association and bank director in Berlin . He also gave lectures on cooperatives and cooperative law at the Handelshochschule Berlin .

Seelmann-Eggebert was a co-founder of the German National People's Party (DNVP) and from 1918 to 1920 chairman of the DNVP regional association Prussia. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Prussian State Constitutional Assembly . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1928. In parliament he represented constituency 1 (East Prussia).

He was killed in a car accident in 1937.
