Erich Wilhelm Sartor

Erich Wilhelm Sartor (born December 29, 1909 in Cologne , † December 25, 1986 in Trier ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( FDP ).

Life

After attending elementary school and completing secondary school at the Humboldt-Gymnasium in Cologne , Sartor completed a commercial apprenticeship at Stollwerck AG in Cologne from 1927 , which he completed in 1930 with the assistant test. He then worked as an employee and from 1931 as a sales representative for Stollwerck. From 1940 to 1942 he was in charge of his in-laws' construction business in Trier. From 1942 to 1945 he took part in World War II as a soldier , most recently as a non-commissioned officer. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the British.

After being released from captivity, Sartor became a partner in Sartor & Engel OHG in Trier from 1945. The company operated a plastering plant and a building materials trade.

Sartor joined the NSDAP in 1933 . From 1933 to 1934 he was a member of the National Socialist Motor Corps , from 1933 to 1945 a member of the German Labor Front and from 1934 to 1945 a member of the National Socialist People's Welfare .

In 1946 he joined the Liberal Party and from 1947 he was a member of the FDP in Rhineland-Palatinate . In 1952 he was elected chairman of the FDP district association in Trier. Sartor was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from June 1, 1955, when he replaced Josef Dohr , who had left the parliament , until his resignation on October 31, 1956.
