Erih Koš
Erih Koš , Erich Kosch (born April 15, 1913 in Sarajevo , † May 25, 2010 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian writer and translator who also used the pseudonym E. Minić .
Live and act
He studied law at the University of Belgrade and worked there as a lawyer since 1935. In 1938 he was sentenced as a communist, in 1941 he entered the resistance struggle and after the Second World War he held various cultural and political functions in communist Yugoslavia and was also a diplomat for a short time. Koš was a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU). He last lived in Belgrade .
Koš mainly wrote novels and short stories dealing with issues of resistance or problems in Yugoslav society. He castigated petty bourgeois behavior by depicting both collective psychoses and the actions of the individual in his often allegorical satires ( whale hype , ice cream , Van Pe's sparrows ) and psychological novels ( Montenegro - Montenegro , Mreže ). In addition to the narrative work, he wrote witty essays and translated Goethe and Chamisso from German.
With Mreže he won the prestigious NIN Prize in 1967.
