Eric Canuel
Eric Canuel (* 1964 in Montreal ; sometimes Erik Canuel and Érik Canuel ) is a Canadian director .
Life
Through his family, he was in contact with the theater at a young age. His father was the actor Yvan Canuel (1935-1999). His brother, Nicolas Canuel, is also an actor. Eric Canuel graduated from Concordia University . From 1992 he created over 200 television commercials and 50 music videos for the Montreal television advertising company Cinélande . He also directs television series and movies.
In 2000, Canuel won a Genie Award for the short documentary Hemingway: A Portrait . In 2005 he shot the remake of Le Survenant (1957) based on the novel of the same name by Germaine Guèvremont . In 2007 he was nominated for the 27th Genie Awards for directing Good Cop Bad Cop . Patrick Huard and Colm Feore star in this action comedy as police officers investigating a series of murders.
Canuel has three children.
