Training and film work

The son of the study professor Konrad Geiger had attended the upper secondary school in Upper Bavaria and graduated from a higher middle school . He then entered the civil service and found employment with the tax authorities. Through Rudolf Walther-Fein and Peter Ostermayr , Geijar-Geiger finally came across the film shortly after the end of the First World War in Munich. Here he was only active for a short time and mainly directed cultural films (documentaries) such as Walchensee and Bayernwerk, The Film in the Service of Agriculture and Innwerk, but also for the cinema with a play story. After 1923, Erik Geijar-Geiger, who had been married on July 11, 1924, refrained from filming. Instead, he went on guest tours as a guest artist (acting and directing) until 1933.

Career in the Third Reich

After the seizure of power , the NSDAP party member (since 1922) Geijar-Geiger, who from 1933 now called himself Konrad Geiger, made a career in Nazi cultural policy. He was head of Section IV of the Reichstheaterkammer , which was responsible for stage choir members and radio choir members. In 1938 Konrad Geiger was promoted to head of artistry within the Reichstheaterkammer. He can be traced back to this position until 1944. It is currently unknown whether Geiger survived the war .
