Erik Kjeldsen

Jens Erik Kjeldsen (born October 20, 1890 in Copenhagen , † February 22, 1976 in Gentofte ) was a Danish track cyclist .

Erik Kjeldsen was one of the dominant track cyclists in Denmark in the 1910s and until the mid-1920s. In 1913 he was the first Danish champion in the sprint of amateurs . In the same year he was Scandinavian champion over one kilometer and third over ten kilometers. In 1915 he won the Scandinavian championship title over ten kilometers. In 1916 and 1917 he secured the national sprint title again and the Danish mile (7.532 kilometers). In 1921 he became vice world champion of amateur sprinters in his hometown of Copenhagen . In 1924 he started in the team pursuit at the Olympic Games in Paris and finished sixth together with Willy Falck Hansen , Oscar Guldager and Edmund Hansen .
