Erin Pac , now Erin Pac Blumert (born May 30, 1980 in Farmington , Connecticut ) is a former American bobsleigh driver .

Career

Erin Pac joined bobsleigh in 2002 on the recommendation of her track and field coach at Springfield College in Springfield , Massachusetts . At first she worked as a pusher for female pilots like Shauna Rohbock and Jill Bakken , before she became a pilot herself in the 2006/07 season .

In 2007 and 2008 she won silver and bronze in the team competition of the world championships with the US team.

Her first World Cup podium as a pilot was a third place in February 2009 in Whistler , where a year later with her brakeman Elana Meyers the bronze medal at the Olympic Games of Vancouver won.

In November 2010, she announced her retirement from competitive sports.

Life

Pac grew up in Farmington, Connecticut and studied rehabilitation science at Springfield College. She completed her studies in 2003 and after the end of her career she works as a behavior therapist with autistic children and adolescents.

She has been married to former strength trainer Peter Blumert since 2011 and lives in Santa Barbara , California .
