Erlachpark (2015)

Erlachpark is a 4500 m² park in the Favoriten district . The park is located within Erlachplatz and has old trees. Formerly existing meadow areas were paved. In addition, the park has a toddler, children and youth playground , a soccer field , a basketball court , a sand playground and a drinking fountain , as well as seasonal park supervision by Kinderfreunde Wien . The park serves as a backdrop for filming and can be booked through the Vienna Film Commission .

history

The Erlachpark is located within the Erlachplatz and derives its name from this. The previously marketplace titled Square was on April 20, 1875, the Baroque - architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach (1656-1723), among others, the St. Charles Church , built named. With its counter-proposal, the district was subject to the name Alxingerplatz at the time.
