The Vienna Film Commission is the central service and contact point for filming in Vienna . As an institution of the city, it supports national and international film productions in filming in Vienna. The service is available free of charge for feature films , documentaries , documentaries, student films and advertisements.

history

The Vienna Film Commission was set up on the initiative of the City of Vienna's Department of Culture (MA 7), the Vienna Film Fund , WienTourismus , the Vienna Business Agency , the Vienna Chamber of Commerce (WK Wien), and the City of Vienna's Press and Information Service (PID) called and founded in February 2009 as a non-profit GmbH. Since July 2009, her office has been in the Media Quarter Marx , in the third district of Vienna.

tasks

The Vienna Film Commission coordinates communication processes between the city administration ( Magistrate of the City of Vienna ) and the film industry, particularly when it comes to granting filming permits . She acts as a mediator and supports the search for suitable motives and service partners in the industry. In addition, she lobbies for films and promotes Vienna internationally as a location for filming and producing films with the aim of achieving sustainable effects for the film industry on site.

structure

Financing partners of the Vienna Film Commission are the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna (MA7), the Vienna Film Fund, Wien Tourismus, the Vienna Business Agency and the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.

The team consists of five people. The managing director is Marijana Stoisits.

Marijana Stoisits is a member of the European Film Academy and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI).

The “Vienna Film Board” acts as an advisory board and consists of representatives from the five financing partners.
