Ernest Henry

Ernest Henry (* 1885 in Geneva ; † 1950 in Paris ) was a Swiss engineer who played a key role in the development of the modern four-stroke engine . In 1912 he designed a four-valve engine with two overhead camshafts for Peugeot , which was used in the Peugeot 500 Sport racing motorcycle . Peugeot won the Indianapolis 500 several times with Henry engines in the automotive industry . He also invented the bucket tappet in 1919 and was responsible for the eight-cylinder engine from the manufacturer Établissements Ballot , with which Jules Goux won the Italian GP in 1921 .
