Ernst-August Behrens

Ernst-August Behrens (born May 11, 1915 in Berlin ; † December 1, 2000 ) was a German mathematician and university professor in Hamburg.

Life

Behrens studied from 1934 at the University of Jena and the University of Hamburg mathematics . In 1935 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Jena . With a doctoral thesis with Erich Hecke , he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . At the University of Hamburg he was a lecturer from 1947 and from 1948 to 1951 scientific assistant to Max Deuring . With him he qualified as a professor in pure mathematics . After his rehabilitation at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main (1951) he was a dietician . It was founded in 1957 in Frankfurt . Apl Professor and 1971 o. Professor . In 1978 he retired . He was visiting professor at Michigan State University from 1966/67 and, by special agreement, from 1968 to 1980 at McMaster University . In 1962 he gave a lecture at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Stockholm .
