Ernst-Günther Graf von Luckner (born October 16, 1919 in Hamburg , † March 22, 1993 in Uetersen ) was a German provost of Uetersen.

Life

The oldest house in Uetersen still preserved today, built in 1644

He was a member of the noble family Luckner , who came from Cham in the Upper Palatinate , and was elected provost of the Uetersen monastery in 1975 as the successor to Christian von Platen-Hallermund . He was the fourth child of Edgar Hugo Nikolaus Graf von Luckner (born August 1, 1878 in Bad Wilsnack ; † October 11, 1945 in Schulenburg ) and his wife Margarete Elisabeth Adolfine Adele Bertha nee. Maltzahn Freiin zu Wartenberg and Penzlin (born May 21, 1880 in Puchow ; † June 27, 1961).

After managing the monastery for around 13 years, von Luckner was faced with the problem of raising money for the preservation of the listed priory house and office building, which threatened to collapse. Fortunately, the tenant of the 40 hectare monastery courtyard gave up the management. In order to be able to shoulder the burden of the renovation of the oldest house in Uetersen, built by the priest Margaretha von Ahlefeldt in 1644, the monastery parted with this property. However, this only succeeded with the consent of Priörin Asta von Bethmann-Hollweg and the convent , although none of these women had lived in the monastery since 1968.

Ernst-Günther Graf von Luckner died on March 22, 1993 and found his final resting place in the monastery 's "Jungfernfriedhof". His successor was his son Hubertus Graf von Luckner .
