Christian-Gottlob Graf von Platen-Hallermund (born January 10, 1900 at Gut Kaden ; † November 13, 1976 in Uetersen ) was a German count and provost of Uetersen.

Life

He was a member of the old Pomeranian noble family Platen-Hallermund , who came from the island of Rügen , and was elected provost of the Uetersen monastery in 1954 as the successor to Arved von Wedderkop . He was the son of Georg Hans Julius Graf von Platen-Hallermund (born November 7, 1858 at Gut Friederikenhof ; † December 9, 1927 at Gut Kaden) and his wife Rosalie nee. Countess von Moltke (born June 6, 1866 in Espejo , Province of Córdoba , † October 9, 1924 in Preetz ). His wife was Countess Ilsa-Maria geb. Kelling (born September 4, 1920 - April 5, 1995). From this marriage the daughter Agnes-Isabell Countess von Platen Hallermund (* 1944) emerged.

The "Klosterkoppel high-rises"

In the early 1950s, during his tenure, Uetersen's economic boom began. The city urgently needed housing. In 1966 the new home of the city offered the construction of the three “Klosterkoppel high-rise buildings” on the Klosterkoppel. Parts of the Klosterkoppelwiesen sold by Platen-Hallermund to the Neue Heimat. He used the proceeds to build a new apartment building in the monastery park, the profit of which was used through rental income to maintain the listed monastery buildings.

In March 2009 the “Klosterkoppelhochhaus” made headlines in the media. Since 2006 the new landlord had not passed on the heating costs, which amounted to more than half a million euros, to E.ON Hanse. As a result, several hundred tenants in a high-rise building on Klosterkoppel turned off the gas so that they had neither heating nor hot water for days. The gas supply was only resumed when the Hamburger Sparkasse, the landlord's main creditor, reached an agreement with the energy supply company and assumed a guarantee. A little later, the high-rise in question and another high-rise were placed under administrative administration. The houses were supposed to be auctioned in mid-2010, but the date for the auction was postponed several times. At the end of 2010, the Hamburger Sparkasse surprisingly sold the houses to an unknown buyer, the market value was around four million euros.

Christian von Platen-Hallermund died in 1976 and found his final resting place with his wife in the monastery 's "Jungfernfriedhof". His successor was Ernst-Günther Graf von Luckner .
