Arved of Wedderkop completely arved Gustav Julian Theodore of Wedderkop even Arvid Wedderkop (* 6 June 1873 in Hamburg , † 3. January 1954 in Uetersen ) was Major , Councilor , monastery provost to Uetersen and politicians.

Life

Arved von Wedderkop was a member of the influential noble family von Wedderkop . In the infantry regiment "Lübeck" of the Prussian Army he was captain and company commander. In 1934 Wedderkop was elected as the successor of Friedrich Eduard von Buchwaldt as the monastery provost of the Uetersen monastery . During his tenure, he led the monastery through the Nazi era and prevented the monastery from becoming the home of daughters of the party elite. After the end of the Second World War , part of the monastery was occupied or confiscated by English occupation soldiers. Here he saved the monastery from the confiscation of the churches and monastery treasures. Arved von Wedderkop died in 1954 and found his final resting place together with his wife Thyra Fernande Petra von Wedderkop in the “maiden cemetery” of the monastery. His successor was Christian Graf von Platen-Hallermund.
