Ernst-Joachim Hossner

Ernst-Joachim Hossner (born March 1,  1961 in Bielefeld ) is a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

Hossner received his Abitur in 1979 at the Thomas-More-Gymnasium in Oelde and then completed a teaching degree (secondary level II, subjects: sport, chemistry and pedagogy) at Bielefeld University , which he completed in 1987 with the state examination. In his thesis he dealt with the topic “On the formation of motor schemes. Experimental verification of the variability of practice hypothesis in the sport of volleyball ”. In 1994 Hossner completed his doctorate in philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . Reviewer of his work with the title “Module der Motorik. Klaus Roth and Reinhard Daugs were on the perspectives of the modularity hypothesis for the movement theory of sport ”, which was awarded first prize in the Carl Diem competition of the German Sports Association . Hossner presented his habilitation in 2002 at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , the title of the paper, which was examined by Klaus Roth and Joachim Funke , was “Moving Events. An experiment on human motor skills ”. His work was awarded first prize in the Carl Diem competition of the German Sports Association.

From 2003 to 2007 Hossner served as visiting professor of Kinesiology and Athletics Training at the Institute of Sports Science at the University of Greifswald worked, between 2007 and 2009 he was at the Department of Sport Science at the UK Liverpool Hope University a position as professor of Movement science. In 2009, Hossner became full professor for movement and training science at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Bern .

In addition to his university work, Hossner works as a consultant in the Swiss professional and certified trainer training, at the Cologne Trainer Academy in Germany, in the Austrian certified trainer training and in the A-trainer training of the German Volleyball Association . In addition, he works as an expert for sports organizations (including Swiss Olympic ) and sports science magazines in German and English.

His main research interests include the coupling of perception and action, effect-oriented movement control, aspects of interdisciplinary sports science, volleyball technique and other areas of motor sport.
