Ernst Adam (writer)

Ernst Adam ( pseudonyms : Ernst A. Dam , Ernst Adam Dam ; born April 24, 1879 in Gelsenkirchen ; † January 28, 1919 in Gelsenkirchen) was a German writer .

Life

Ernst Adam was the son of a teacher. He attended the Realgymnasium in Gelsenkirchen up to secondary school . He then worked for two years in companies in the Ruhr industry . From 1899 to 1902 he was a student at the Technical University of Darmstadt , where he also attended lectures in the humanities and economics . He broke off his studies and in the following years lived as a journalist and freelance writer in Gelsenkirchen, from 1908 to 1910 in Essen and finally again in Gelsenkirchen.

Ernst Adam is the author of a number of stories , most of which are set in the working class milieu of the Ruhr mining industry .
