Ernst Bauer (painter)

Ernst Bauer (born April 7, 1921 in Oberlind ; † October 21, 1967 ) was a German painter and graphic artist.

life and career

He visited in Neustadt bei Coburg , the elementary school and then learned in Coburg , the painting and varnishing work in the body shop N. defiance . During his time at vocational school, he found an excellent painter in Coburg, Friedemann Lysek, with whom he could continue his education. He experienced the Second World War as a soldier in France and on the Eastern Front . In 1942 he was wounded in the hospital in Plauen, where his wife Hannelore geb. Dietrich met whom he married in 1943. In 1947 he returned to Neustadt. From 1948 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . He was best known for his large-scale murals, which adorn business and private houses as well as public buildings. The Veste Coburg art collections acquired several of his felt-tip pen drawings , tempera pictures and watercolors . Ernst Bauer worked as a freelance artist for Siemens and the toy industry in Neustadt.
