Ernst Benno Mutschler

Ernst Benno Mutschler (born October 26, 1891 in Obersontheim , † March 14, 1974 in Finningen ) was a German pharmacist and civil servant.

Life

Mutschler was born the son of a doctor. He attended elementary school in Aalen and grammar school in Schwäbisch Gmünd . He completed this with the secondary school leaving certificate. He then learned pharmacy in Aalen and completed his military service. From 1913 he studied at the TH Stuttgart . A year later he was active as a medical sergeant in the First World War . After that he was employed at the Kaiser Wilhelms Academy for military medical education in Berlin for bacteriological and serological research until the end of the war. In 1919 he resumed his pharmacy studies in Stuttgart. A year later he passed the pharmaceutical state examination and worked in Aalen and from 1922 in Esslingen am Neckar . From 1925 he worked as a scientific medical advisor in southern Germany. Three years later he moved to Aalen and in 1934 became Reich Youth Administrator of the German Pharmacists' Association . From 1936 to 1945 he was head of the district headquarters of the NS-Volkswohlfahrt and head of the district school at Kapfenburg Castle in Württemberg . During his work as a Reich Youth Welfare Officer, he passed the “Kapfenburg Decisions” in 1939. This led to a streamlined, uniform training for young pharmacists across the empire. Furthermore, Mutschler was also active as a writer as a "party and class lyricist". After the war Mutschler worked in the cultivation of medicinal plants and the scientific research and development of phytotherapeutic preparations. In 1949 he founded the St. Martin pharmacy in Tussenhausen , and four years later he opened the Sonnen pharmacy in Heidenheim . In 1959 he took over the management of the Virdiplanta company. In 1965 he moved to Finningen.

Mutschler was married to Luise geb. Krauss. The pharmacist and pharmacologist Ernst Mutschler emerged from the marriage.
