Ernst Bernardien
Ernst Robert Bernardien (born October 14, 1864 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † February 24, 1944 in Hohenleipisch ) was a German sculptor in Berlin-Wilmersdorf .
Life
Bernardien studied at the Königsberg Art Academy under Friedrich Reusch . Via Leipzig-Reudnitz he moved briefly to Berlin-Charlottenburg, where he lived or worked in the same house as Heinrich Günther-Gera , and moved to Wilmersdorf at the end of the 1890s. He called himself an academic sculptor or art sculptor . He mainly created bronze sculptures and monuments. Bronze was often damaged during World War II or collected as metal donations and made available to the war industry.
