Ernst Biehler

Ernst Biehler (born June 7, 1903 , † May 26, 1997 ) was a German officer , most recently major general in World War II . As a lieutenant colonel in the general staff of the 24th Infantry Division , he was awarded the German Cross in Gold on July 10, 1943 . Biehler also commanded the 205th Infantry Division during the war and in 1945 was in command of the city of Frankfurt (Oder) , which was appointed a fortress .
