Ernst Bonnell

Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Bonnell ( Russian Эрнст Боннелл * 9. January 1817 in Schwedt / Oder , † May 17th . Jul / 29. May  1893 greg. In Saint Petersburg ) was an educator , librarian and historian .

Life

Bonnell had resided permanently in Livonia since 1841 . After he had passed the exams as senior teacher of the historical sciences and as the German language, he became inspector of the knighthood pension at the knight and cathedral school in Reval in 1844 . From 1847 to 1854 he was a teacher at the district school in Weissenstein . He was then a librarian at the Imperial Public Library in Saint Petersburg and a Real Councilor of State . In addition, since 1855 he was a corresponding member of the Society for History and Antiquity of the Baltic Provinces of Russia .

From his marriage to Karolina Helena Bruhns, the Finnish doctor Elisabeth Hermine von Bonnell (1867–1926) emerged as a daughter.
