Ernst Konrad Otto Brasche ( Russian Эрнст Иванович Браше ; born November 27, 1873 in Saarde ; † November 12, 1933 in Tallinn ) was an Estonian sailor who achieved his only international success for the Russian Empire , which Estonia belonged to at the time of winning his medal .
successes
Ernst Brasche took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in the 10-meter class as a crew member of the Gallia II from the Russian Empire. At the regatta held in Nynäshamn , Gallia II finished the first race in third and the second race in second place. Since skipper Harry Wahl's Nina from Finland also achieved a second and a third place, there was a jump-off between the two boats, in which the Nina prevailed. Brasche received the bronze medal along with the other crew members Karl Lindholm , Nikolai Puschnizki , Alexander Rodionow , Iossif Schomaker and Filip Schtrauch as well as skipper Esper Belosselski .
