Ernst Bratuscheck

Ernst Carl Ludwig Bratuscheck (born March 8, 1837 in Auleben near Nordhausen , † January 15, 1883 in Gießen ) was a German classical philologist and philosopher .

Ernst Bratuschek studied with August Boeckh and Friedrich Adolf Trendelenburg in Berlin . In 1865 he received his doctorate from Boeckh, in 1866 he passed the teacher examination. From 1867 to 1870 he taught at the Friedrichs-Werderschen trade school in Berlin, in 1870 he became a senior teacher at the Luisenschule in Berlin. In 1871 he completed his habilitation and taught as a private lecturer in philosophy at the University of Berlin, and in 1874 he became professor of philosophy at the University of Giessen .

From 1858 to 1872 he was co-editor of the collected little writings of August Boeckh and in 1877 published his encyclopedia and methodology of philological sciences on the basis of notes by Boeckh and listeners' transcripts .
