Ernst Carl Christian Bach

Ernst Carl Christian Bach (born June 8, 1785 in Ohrdruf ; † June 26, 1859 there ) was a German Protestant clergyman and teacher from the Bach family .

Life

Bach studied at the University of Jena from 1805 . He became subdeacon in 1814, pastor at St. Michael in Ohrdruf in 1817 , and vice-rector at the Gymnasium Gleichense the following year . In 1827 he was appointed director of the grammar school in Schaffhausen , but returned to Ohrdruf in 1839 as superintendent and consistorial councilor .

Bach was a great-grandson of the Ohrdruffer organist Johann Christoph Bach .
