Ernst Czernotzky
Ernst Czernotzky (born July 7, 1869 in Brno , † 1939 in Vienna ) was an Austrian still life painter of Czech descent.
Czernotzky began his painting apprenticeship privately in Brno with Emil Pirchan . After moving to Vienna in 1902, he continued his studies at the private painting school of David Kohn (1861–1922) and Anton Hlavaček (1842–1926).
He made several study trips to Germany , Belgium , France , Holland , Denmark and Italy . From 1911 he was a member of the Austrian Association of Artists. Czernotzky devoted himself almost exclusively to still life painting based on Dutch models.
