Ernst Ebeling (politician)

Ernst Ebeling (born February 1, 1859 in Magdeburg , † November 26, 1932 in Wernigerode ) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician .

Life

Ebeling studied law at the University of Halle and at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . During his studies he was a member of the 1879 Schwarzenburg Bund - connection Tuiskonia Hall . At the 1883 passed the first state exam is a closed clerkship , while this time his doctorate he became Dr. iur.

Shortly after passing the 2nd state examination in 1888, he was elected mayor of Hohenstein-Ernstthal , and two years later he was mayor of Meerane . In February 1898 he took up the post of Lord Mayor of the City of Dessau , after the end of the regular term of twelve years he was re-elected in 1910. He held this office until January 1918. After the city administration had irregularities in the distribution of rationed food, Ebeling took responsibility for this and resigned. He left the city and moved to Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains, where he had already spent his holidays in the Hotel Steinerne Renne many years earlier . He died here in 1932.

Ebeling was a member of the Masonic Lodge Esiko for the rising light in Dessau.
