Ernst Genzken

Karl Ernst Bernhard Genzken , also Carl Ernst Bernhard Genzken (born December 5, 1811 in Rostock , † November 9, 1882 in Schwarzenbek ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and author.

Life

Genzken was a son of the pastor and later cathedral provost in Ratzeburg Carl Genzken . Friedrich Genzken was his younger brother. After receiving private tuition from his father, he went to Prima des Johanneum in Lüneburg at the age of 14 . From 1831 to 1833 he studied Protestant theology at the University of Göttingen and from Easter 1833 to 1834 at the University of Halle . After 18 months as a private tutor (Easter 1834 to Christmas 1835) he was appointed as a deacon at the Nicolaikirche in Mölln on February 21, 1836 . On March 4th he became pastor primarius in Mölln. In February 1846 he moved to Schwarzenbek. His successor in Mölln was Adolf Moraht . In 1867 he was appointed consistorial assessor.
