Ernst Heinz Gerhardt (born September 10, 1921 in Frankfurt-Bockenheim ) is a former German local politician ( CDU ).

Career

From 1936 he did a commercial apprenticeship at the Frankfurter Braun AG and worked his way up to the position of authorized signatory there after the Second World War . Gerhardt was elected to the city council of Frankfurt am Main in 1956 . In 1960 he became a full-time member of the magistrate and from 1978 to 1989 he was city ​​treasurer . He made a lasting contribution to the university in Frankfurt's twin city Tel Aviv. Gerhardt is the bearer of the Commander's Cross with a Star of the Papal Order of Gregory . In 2011 he received the Hessian Order of Merit .
