Ernst Gloede (* 1934 in Essen ) is a German entrepreneur.

Life

After studying business and economics in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Graz with a degree in business administration from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , he received his doctorate in 1958 from the Karl Franzens University in Graz .

From 1962 to 2012 Gloede was President of the Rhein-Main Business Club, which was founded in 1950, one of the largest national associations of this type. In 2012, after 50 years, he was elected Honorary President. In 1979/1980 he was the source of ideas and initiator of the German Business Innovation Prize - legally protected as the “World's First Innovation Prize”. This award annually honors the most important scientific, technical, entrepreneurial and intellectual innovations in the German economy.

In 1987 Gloede developed the German credit card (DKK) together with the HDE and the German Hotel and Restaurant Association , but after its successful introduction it ran counter to the interests of the financial sector and therefore had to be taken off the market. In 1991 Gloede was the first editor of the book Prognose der 100 , published annually by Societäts-Verlag , in which 100 business leaders give personal assessments on forward-looking topics. 1995 Creator of the idea and organizer of the TV innovation game for managers , a creative competition for the award of the sculpture Eye with Perspective, created by the artist Bernd Fischer . In 1997, the development of the German Job Investor Prize followed , a prize created with the support of the then President of the Federal Employment Agency Bernhard Jagoda , which annually recognized the creation of new jobs as an entrepreneurial act. In 2011, Gloede handed over the original sculpture of the “Innovation Prize of the German Economy” created by the artist Bernd Fischer as a contemporary witness of the innovative strength of the German economy to the Hessisches Landes Museum Darmstadt as a permanent loan for the permanent exhibition.
