Bernhard Jagoda
Bernhard Jagoda (born July 29, 1940 in Kirchwalde , district of Rosenberg OS ; † June 19, 2015 in Schwalmstadt ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and President of the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg .
Life
Bernhard Jagoda, son of a miner from Upper Silesia , was from 1955 to 1970 as administrative secretary in the city administration of Treysa (now Schwalmstadt ) in Northern Hesse, most recently as head of the social welfare department.
A member of the CDU since 1965, he was a member of the Hessian Landtag from 1970 to 1980 and a member of the German Bundestag from 1980 to 1987 and from 1990 to 1993 . From 1987 to 1990 he was State Secretary for Norbert Blüm in the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs .
On January 28, 1993, he was appointed President of the Federal Labor Office to succeed Heinrich Franke . The Federal Audit Office uncovered the manipulation of placement statistics in 2001 and that Jagoda should have known about it for years. On February 21, 2002, Jagoda resigned from office. Florian Gerster was his successor .
From 1991 to 1993 Jagoda was federal chairman of the Landsmannschaft der Oberschlesier . Then from 2003 to 2011 he was chairman of the board of the Haus Oberschlesien foundation in Ratingen. As an active stenographer, Bernhard Jagoda was a long-term member of the Stenograph Association 1925 Treysa e. V. and since 1985 its honorary member. He was chairman of the local DRK branch Schwalmstadt-Treysa. In his homeland he became an honorary citizen of Olesno , the former Rosenberg OS.
Bernhard Jagoda lived in Schwalmstadt until his death and died there in his house in the Treysa district. He was married and had two children.
