Ernst Hirsch (politician)

Ernst Hirsch (born May 5, 1892 in Linz, Upper Austria ; † October 14, 1973 there ) was an Austrian priest and politician ( CSP ).

Life

The son of a master painter attended high school, studied theology and was ordained a priest in 1915. Initially working as a cooperator , he took over the post of secretary of the Catholic People's Association between 1919 and 1921 and again from 1923 to 1934. After he was also chairman of the parents' association "Frohe Jugend" between 1923 and 1934 , he founded the diocesan association "Frohe Jugend" in 1928 and became vice president of the Reichsverband. From 1926 to 1934 he was a member of both the city school council and the state school council . From 1934 Hirsch worked as a religion professor at various secondary schools in Linz; In 1935 he passed the religious examination for secondary schools. From 1943 he was rector of the Elisabethinen, at the end of the war pastor in Tyrol. However, he returned to Linz and was active again as a religion professor until his retirement in 1957.

Ernst Hirsch was elected as a substitute for the Federal Council in 1925 and was a member of the National Council in 1930 and 1931 , then from 1931 to 1934 a member of the state parliament for the Christian Social Party , and also a member of the state government until the resignation in December 1933 . His main agendas as a state councilor were school, education, election and community affairs.
