Ernst Krüger (trade unionist)

Ernst Krüger (born November 3, 1907 in Aken ; † after 1967) was a German foreman and trade unionist. From 1954 to 1967 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Krüger, the son of a skipper, attended elementary school and learned the trade of a locksmith from 1922 to 1925. From 1922 to 1926 he was a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth. From 1926 to 1937 he worked as a stoker and machinist on an Elbe steamer and was a member of the metal workers' association from 1926 to 1934. In 1937 he began working as a locksmith in the Polte works in Magdeburg . He later became a controller and foreman.

After the Second World War he became a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) in 1945 . From 1946 he was a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) and, from 1953, a member of the management of a basic SED organization in his company. From 1948 he worked as a foreman in the now state-owned company (VEB) Sanar large armatures factory in Magdeburg. From 1954 to 1967 he was a member of the FDGB parliamentary group in the People's Chamber. From 1957 to 1967 he was a member of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy and from 1960 to 1963 he was also a member of the Standing Committee on National Defense.

From 1956 to 1957 he attended the SED district party school in Ballenstedt . Krüger was a member of the combat group and from 1961 a member of the works union management (BGL) in the VEB Magdeburger Armaturenwerke "Karl Marx".
