Ernst Leisler

Johann Ernst Christoph Achilles Leisler (born July 3, 1795 in Hanau , Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel , † January 24, 1875 in Wiesbaden , Hessen-Nassau ) was a German lawyer and member of the Duchy of Nassau .

Ernst Leisler was the son of the court court counsel and procurator Johann Adam Leisler and his wife Augusta Friederike, née Wurm. The lawyer and member of parliament Emil Achilles Leisler (1805–1869) was his brother. Leisler was a Protestant denomination. On December 10, 1826 in Hanau he married Helene, née Brandt (born February 18, 1797 in Hanau, † October 24, 1846 in Wiesbaden), the daughter of the Hanau merchant Friedrich Lorenz Brandt and Wilhelmine Leisler.

Leisler studied law in Heidelberg, Gießen, then in Winkel and completed his studies in 1826 with a doctorate in law. jur. from. In 1828 he became court and appeal court procurator in Wiesbaden and after his dismissal in 1832 a lawyer in Wiesbaden. In 1839 he was court and appellate court procurator in Usingen and 1841-1846 official procurator in Wiesbaden, but without admission to the higher courts. In 1867 he was retired.

From 1848 to 1851 he was a member of the Nassau state parliament . He was in constituency VIII Braubach / St. Goarshausen elected. In the state parliament he belonged to the club of the right. He participated in the development of a liberal program for the Duchy of Hesse. He was a member of the Heidelberg Assembly and the Pre-Parliament . In March and April 1848, during the March Revolution, he was Vice President of the Wiesbaden Security Committee and a member of the City Council. He advocated the suppression of the July riots in Wiesbaden in 1848 by the Reich execution troops.
