Ernst Meisel
Ernst Meisel (born March 8, 1838 in Lichte ( Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt ), † August 24, 1895 in Munich ) was a German history painter.
Ernst Meisel began his training at the Schmidt'schen painting school in Bamberg , where he learned the profession of porcelain painter. He then studied from May 10, 1865 in the technical painting class of the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Alexander Wagner and Karl Theodor von Piloty .
At Piloty, Ernst Meisel specialized in historical genre painting.
