Ernst Mikosch

Ernst Mikosch (born January 24, 1949 in Fulda ) is a German legal scholar and former judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Life

Ernst Mikosch studied law and did his legal clerkship . He finished his training with the second state examination in 1975 in Stuttgart . He then worked as a research assistant at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , where he received his doctorate in 1981 on the subject of agreements on pension equalization , in particular for company pension schemes . This was followed by his entry into the higher judicial service of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg , where he worked at various labor courts . At the end of 1992 he became presiding judge at the Baden-Württemberg State Labor Court and in May 1993 a judge at the Federal Labor Court. There he was a member of the 8th Senate and, from October 2001, the 5th Senate of the highest German court of labor jurisdiction. The 5th Senate is responsible for legal issues relating to the status of employees, claims to remuneration , continued payment of remuneration in the event of illness, default in acceptance and questions relating to legal recourse to the labor courts. He was appointed Deputy Chairman of the 5th Senate and finally, on November 1, 2009, Chairman of the 10th Senate of the Federal Labor Court. The 10th Senate, which he heads , deals with bonuses , special allowances and allowances . Mikosch retired on April 30, 2014.

In addition to his judicial work, Mikosch also teaches. He has been an honorary professor at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen since 1998 . He publishes on collective labor law , individual labor law and procedural law .
