Ernst Rinderspacher

Ernst Rinderspacher (born August 3, 1879 in Basel , † December 17, 1949 in Zurich ) was a Swiss glass painter who especially decorated the windows of the Reformed churches in the Upper Engadine lakes area with his works.

Life

Rinderspacher completed an apprenticeship as a glass painter and then went to Freiburg im Breisgau , Strasbourg , Budapest , Zurich , Vienna , Munich and Florence to study . In 1914, Rinderspacher returned to Switzerland. From then on he lived in Sils in the Fextal . There he developed his work for 32 years until he was forced to move to Zurich in 1946 for health reasons.

In August 1949, 115 glass paintings and 53 drawings, watercolors and oil paintings were shown in the Villa Tester in Sils-Maria on the occasion of the artist's 70th birthday .
