Reformed Church of Silvaplana
The Reformed Church in Silvaplana in the Upper Engadine is a Protestant - Reformed church under the monument of the canton of Grisons .
History and equipment
The church is first documented in 1356, but the building fabric of a Romanesque predecessor building from the 11th century has been proven. Structural changes in the late Gothic style were made in 1491 in the pre-Reformation period . a. the church tower raised . Its pointed helmet, however, is more recent and was put on in 1906.
Inside the church can be found on the north wall of the nave murals (u. A. To Mary Magdalene ) an Italian art school in the year 1500. The carved pulpit is from 1740, the neo-Gothic enclosed organ from 1900.
Church organization
Silvaplana has merged with Sils im Engadin / Segl and Champfèr and is part of the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès in the Evangelical Reformed Church of Graubünden .
