Life

In 1760 Lestwitz was accepted into the Freemason Lodge Jonathan founded in Braunschweig in 1744 . Just one year later he became their master from the chair and held this office until 1765. He was a leading representative of the Strict Observance as well as subprior and prefect of the order province of Brunopolis . The Brunswick dukes Ferdinand and Leopold were accepted into boxes by von Lestwitz.

In the garden of the former lodge house in Braunschweig's Leopoldstrasse was a memorial to von Lestwitz. After the destruction of the Second World War , only the bust remains , which is now in the Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum .

Lestwitz was buried in the Martinifriedhof . His tomb, which is still there today, was donated by the Brunswick Duke Ferdinand.
